»Die Fledermaus« in der Elbphilharmonie

New Year's concert: Die Fledermaus

Johann Strauss's classic operetta at the Elbphilharmonie: Enjoy the acclaimed 2019 performance again. Video available until 6 Jan 2021.

Concert stream available until 6 January 2021.

It was of the highlights of the last few years: »Die Fledermaus« by Johann Strauss II opened at the Elbphilharmonie to resounding applause on 1 January 2019. This premiere of the cult operetta about the champagne ball at Prince Orlofsky's couldn't have been more festive: the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, a line-up of choice singer/actors and the NDR Chor together with star conductor Manfred Honeck ensured a brilliant mood on New Year's Eve. »Once again world-class entertainment!«, to quote one review.

All the better, then, that Strauss's feel-good piece can be enjoyed again this New Year's Eve as a stream. »Come dine with me!«, invites baritone and bon viveur Dr. Falke – »When the polka sounds like fun! Believe me, my friend, that makes you young. The music sweeps you away in the ballroom a-glitter, with the sweetest of sirens at a divine dinner!«.
