If standard symphony orchestras are the great container ships of classical music, then the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen is more akin to a speedboat. It ploughs through the repertoire with a vibrant enthusiasm that leaves a glistening spray in its wake, always on the lookout for original new approaches. In this subscription triple pack, the long-time principal conductor Paavo Järvi takes the podium twice, in programmes that revolve around Haydn and Schubert, respectively. In between these concerts, the conducting composer Matthias Pintscher is making a guest appearance, performing his own work amongst others.
