Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra / Yannick Nézet-Séguin
Chopin / Bernstein / Rachmaninov
The people of Hamburg can look forward to an exciting encounter in March, when one of the most sensational conductors of our time meets a young star pianist who garnered great acclaim last season for his fresh and sensitive Mozart interpretations: Yannick-Nézet Séguin and Jan Lisiecki are both admired for their energy and vitality, praised for their relaxed yet focused manner when dealing with musical partners, the media and the public, and celebrated for their fresh approach to the established repertoire. It may be a coincidence that the two come from Canada, but there is no question that these two figures – on whom the hopes of classical music are pinned – come together in perfect harmony on the stage.
