Christopher Donald »Chris« Barber was born on 17 April 1930 in Hertfordshire, north of London. He celebrates his 90th birthday next year! After over 65 years on the world’s biggest stages, Chris Barber has regrettably decided to retire from show business following a fall at the beginning of the year. Since his accident, his band has performed all concerts without their eponym to great acclaim and it comes as no surprise that the Big Chris Barber Band put on a fantastic performance at their last concert in Hamburg in October 2019.

Chris Barber’s biggest wish is that his music will continue to be played for the fans by his ensemble, whose members have accompanied him for decades. The musicians that make up Barber’s band are not only soloists of extraordinary musicality and astonishing improvisational skills, but also entertainers with proverbial British dry humour.
