The Humble Rebel

Anne Clark is not only a great poet and an icon in music history, she is also a pioneer of the spoken word, and she paved the way for later champions of the genre such as Kae Tempest. Forever looking to set new standards in her performances, Anne Clark always remained a rebel to some extent – even if in a modest way. Inspired by the budding post-punk scene, she – along with David Harrow and John Foxx – was already mixing things up in the British new wave and electro scene in the late 1970s.
