Freundeskreis - Funding projects Working together for music – today and tomorrow. Find out what we are supporting in this exceptional season.

Our current funding projects

First and foremost, the Freundeskreis supports musical projects at the Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle. In the current 2023/24 season, the association is supporting HamburgMusik gGmbH with 330,000 euros – from membership fees and donations. Since 2011, the Freundeskreis has also been a sponsor of Ensemble Resonanz, the Elbphilharmonie’s resident ensemble, which broadens the musical programme in original ways.

In the current season, the Freundeskreis supports the following projects:

Sir András Schiff

Residence of Sir András Schiff

He is not only a gifted pianist – he is rather a thinker at the piano who penetrates works to the last detail. He can be experienced on six evenings at the Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle.

Hamidreza Shirmohamadi

Kurdistan Festival

The lively and rich culture of Kurdistan extends over an immensely large geographical area. All the major themes of the Kurds resonate at the festival – in dances and songs we approach this special cultural wealth.

Ensemble Correspondances

Das Alte Werk

How exhilarating and contemporary »old« music can sound! This is demonstrated by the best ensembles and stars such as Jean Rondeau or Joyce DiDonato in the Laeiszhalle and also in the Elbphilharmonie.

Ensemble Resonanz

Ensemble Resonanz
