It’s impossible to sum up Barbara Hannigan’s career in just a few words – the Canadian live wire’s interests and specialisms are far too diverse for that. SWR called her »a multi-talented artist who constantly redefines herself«.

She gained global fame as an extraordinary soprano, amazing audiences with breath-taking performances of vocally and emotionally challenging parts such as Alban Berg’s »Lulu«. In 2010, she picked up the conductor’s baton for the first time, and two years later she formed her own orchestra. By now she can be seen conducting leading orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra.
