The Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki is widely regarded as a shooting star at the keyboard. He began studying piano when he was five years old, and when he was only 13, the BBC Music Magazine praised his »mature musicality« and »sparkling technique«. Lisiecki’s career has gone from strength to strength ever since. In Hamburg, he is performing a number of showpieces from his repertoire, including piano concertos by Mozart and Beethoven that feature in his discography: Lisiecki’s performance of all five Beethoven concertos with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields is considered to be one of the highlights of the Beethoven Year 2020. He will also appear as the soloist in Grieg’s wonderfully romantic Piano Concerto in A minor, and give a solo recital.
