Mozart’s symphonies and operas are concert favourites – just like Handel’s vocal works. The Chamber Orchestra of Europe under Robin Ticciati combines arias from both with Mozart’s lively »Haffner« Symphony. Countertenor Iestyn Davis sings.

The Dominican composer and pianist Michel Camilo, who has already been honoured with Grammy and Emmy awards, moves between jazz, classical, pop and world music. With the Symphoniker Hamburg, he presents his energetic piano concerto.

A pure Chopin evening with one of the world's most famous pianists: with polonaises and nocturnes, the programme is entirely tailored to Pletnev's wide range of expression and captivating virtuosity.

: Strawinsky: Le sacre du printemps
When Stravinsky’s ballet »Le sacre du printemps« was first performed, it was a scandal. Today, the groovy music is a big hit. Berio’s »Sinfonia« is just as exciting. The Junge Deutsche Philharmonie unleashes all its energy here under Roderick Cox.

: Budapest Festival Orchestra / Iván Fischer
Mahler’s symphonies are monumental and at the same time approachable and touching. He deals with many personal themes. This includes his Symphony No. 2, which can be experienced with the singers Christiane Karg and Anna Lucia Richter in a top line-up.

Firmly positioned in the starting blocks for global careers ahead: six exceptional young musicians, selected by Europe’s major concert halls, perform at the Elbphilharmonie within the space of a week.

: Amadeus, Amadeus
For an entire week, an illustrious line-up of artists honours the gigantic oeuvre of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Jordi Savall comes with the Great Mass in C minor, Mitsuko Uchida with a piano concerto and René Jacobs conducts the opera »Idomeneo«.

: Elbphilharmonie Visions
This splendid festival celebrating new music is entering its second round. Over the course of seven concerts, festival initiator Alan Gilbert and the outstanding radio orchestras perform 21st century music spanning the entire stylistic spectrum.
